More Infallible Christian Logic
Those masters of logic are at it again. Over 500 people in Washington state came out to gripe about those damned atheists and their evil holiday display in the Capitol building. Of course, they aren't there to deny anyone any rights, as one pastor so eloquently elaborated:
"The No. 1 thing is, we want the state of Washington and the governor to represent everyone in the state," said the Rev. Kenneth Hutcherson, the pastor of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond. "But just because you must represent everyone in the state doesn't mean that you put up with intolerance from the people that you represent."See, they want everyone to be represented. Just not those with whom they disagree. Sort of like that whole Defense of Marriage thing. You know, where they aren't discriminating against homosexuals. The other astounding feat of logical prowess demonstrated in that quote is the bit on intolerance. If you aren't clear on the difference between tolerance and intolerance, perhaps State Rep. Jim Dunn can help you out:
"It is time to chase out of the house of God all the unbelievers and evildoers," Dunn said. You see, this is called tolerance. Putting up a sign that criticizes religion is called intolerance. Jim Dunn is free to say what he did, but the 'unbelievers' have to sit down and shut up. Got it? By the way, I didn't realize that the Washington Capitol building was a 'house of God'. Learn something new every day. This whole episode reminds me of something I've seen before. Hmmm, what was it? Oh, yeah: (or if you can't view the video). (h/t to PZ)
