Abusing Heart
I tuned in to the Republican convention to catch McCain's speech to see how high he ranked on the bullshit meter. Let's say he met my expectations. Then I got a bigger shock during the 'celebration' after the speech. I find Republicans offensive enough as it is, but playing Heart's Barracuda as Palin's theme song is going way too far. A quick Google shows me this had already been played during the convention. Ann and Nancy Wilson weren't too happy about it either, it seems.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are pissed at the Republican Party and have fired off a cease and desist letter to the McCain/Palin campaign. Specifically, the Heart women are upset that the GOP has used their classic "Barracuda" as a theme song for Sarah Palin. TMZ obtained a statement from Heart's rep, who says "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission."The 'pubs then ignored the Wilsons' request not to use the song any more by playing it at the end of the convention. First they insult our intelligence, then they attack our liberties, now they belittle Heart? For more reasons not to vote Republican, just read the comments some (obviously Republican) clueless wonders left on that post.
