September 12th
The instructions for September 12th – a toy world open with the line ‘This is not a game.’ But it certainly is an excellent demonstration of game tech being used for social commentary. The message it sends is simple, yet powerful. And quite real. Make sure to play it for at least a couple of minutes to fully appreciate what that message is.

If you’ve been looking for an American version of Tommy Douglas, it’s looking more and more like there isn’t going to be one. Instead of the Greatest American, the savior of countless lives through his unyielding support for health care reform, we’re stuck with the Worst American, one on whom we can heap most of [...]

Fossilized bacteria in the Allan Hills 84001 Meteorite, originally announced well over a decade ago, has now been verified to really be fossilized bacteria. I remember the controversy back then, with scientists being split over whether it was really bacteria or simply natural crystal formations. I so wanted it to be true that we really [...]

The Obama administration has been working closely with Egypt to introduce a resolution to the UN Human Rights Council. The resolution is, apparently, an attempt to kowtow to Muslim countries. But it does so in a deplorable manner.
The U.N. Human Rights Council approved a U.S.-backed resolution Friday deploring attacks on religions while insisting that freedom [...]

Given that the Democrats currently control both houses of Congress as well as the White House, and that the Republicans are currently showing no desire to contribute anything meaningful to the health care debate but are instead dead set on preventing Obama from effectively governing, you’d think that the Democrats would ignore them and get [...]

Considering how rabid all these anti-health care reform people are in their disruptions of town hall meetings across America, one would assume that they must have some pretty shiny health insurance plans themselves. One would be wrong.
A wingnut named Kenneth Gladney recently made headlines when he was “injured” (watch the video to judge for yourself) [...]

Paul Krugman has a good op-ed on health care. He leads with the fact that there’s a lot of misinformation out there about not only health care reform, but about the current system.
At a recent town hall meeting, a man stood up and told Representative Bob Inglis to “keep your government hands off my Medicare.” [...]

An article at the Guardian, Birthers embarrass the Republicans, starts off discussing the now infamous incident at a town hall meeting hosted by Republican Congressman Mike Castle of Delaware, in which a lunatic lady waves her birth certificate around in a plastic bag while ranting that Obama is not a citizen. The author, Thomas Noyes, [...]

In my last post, I talked about the level of stupidity in America among conservatives. Here’s some evidence of it on video. This comes from a town hall meeting held by Republican Congressman Mike Castle of Delaware, where a bunch of whacked out birthers got loud.
We’re all in trouble if people like these, as the [...]
