Chicken Wings, Yuma, Atonement and Snow

Saturday night I attended a gathering of friends in Itaewon for a few hours. One of them I hadn’t seen in over 4 years (great to see you again Sam!). I kept the beers to a minimum and made it home quite early and quite sober. It was a good time all around and we had some great Buffalo chicken wings at the Rocky Mountain Tavern. If you want to try some for yourself, the Ouch sauce wasn’t so much but the Very Ouch really was. Once again, I was caught without my camera, so no pics.

Sunday morning and early afternoon were spent with the wife at Yongsan CGV. We took in 3:10 to Yuma and Atonement. Both were excellent, though I admittedly got a bit drowsy while watching the latter. As for the former, I had no idea of what the story was, having heard nothing about it beforehand and having never seen the original, so I was hooked from the beginning. Time well spent, for sure. Juno and No Country for Old Men are next in the line up, hopefully sometime this week.

The weather over the has been erratic lately, cold in the mornings and at night while bordering on spring-like in the afternoons. Today switched things up, though, being quite cold all day. We even got dusted with some light snow for a few hours from late afternoon. Not good, that. Snow in Seoul doesn’t stick on the ground for very long once it stops falling, but leaves some ice patches around for a few days. With a light snow like this it’s particularly bad because the ice patches are sparse and frequently not obvious if you aren’t looking for them, which is usually the case for me early in the morning when I’m drowsily stumbling to the bus stop. If I fall tomorrow and break any bones, I’ll be sure to post pics.
