It’s rare that I have the opportunity to walk along Cheonggye Stream at night these days. I usually do so in the late afternoon or early evening. Once in a rare while I do so in the morning. If I do happen to be in the area at night, it’s usually because I’m drinking with someone and I finish too late to even consider a nice walk along the stream. Tonight was one of those few nights I had time.
I had a quick dinner after my evening class and then headed to a bar next to the stream to have a couple of beers while I got caught up on the AC360 podcast. I came out of the bar around 7:45 and decided to walk down stream to Dongdaemun to catch a bus home. Normally, it’s a 20 ~ 25 minute walk for me from the head of the stream (near Sejongno) to Dongdaemun.
The sky was a bit overcast today, but I thought it was mostly because of the Yellow Sand phenomenon. The weather was quite nice and rather warm. As I walked along the stream, though, rain started to fall. It was a fine mist at first, then got a bit heavier. I hurried on to Dongdaemun and was lucky enough to get a taxi quickly. Hopefully, my next night trip to Cheonggye Stream will be rain-free.
