Egg Bread

Street vendors can be found on sidewalks and in busy alleyways throughout Seoul. They sell food and a variety of items. Some of the snack vendors are seasonal. One of my favorite winter snacks is kyeran bbang, literally translated to English as ‘egg bread’.

Egg Bread

I first tried one of these little delights five years ago or so and was instantly hooked. This year, I’ve been eating them rather frequently. Most vendors sell them for 500 or 600 won (roughly 50 - 60 cents USD) and some vendors make them better than others. I like the buttery ones best, but I haven’t found any lately.

If you encounter a kyeran bbang vendor while in Seoul, go ahead and try what she’s selling. If you like sweet bread and eggs, you’ll like kyeran bbang.
