Followers of that “peaceful” religion called Islam are once again promoting their peculiar brand of peace. Now that Salman Rushdie has been granted knighthood, Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister says that “such actions are the root cause of terrorism…”
“If someone commits suicide bombing to protect the honour of the Prophet Mohammad, his act is justified,” he said, according to the translation by the Reuters news agency.
The next person that tells me Islam is a religion of peace is going to get an earful. Christians are loony, but Muslims who believe that it’s OK to kill someone for mocking a guy who might or might not have lived several hundred years ago are insane. This goes beyond that, of course. Now, granting a title to someone who mocks their precious prophet is justification for killing people. My tolerance and understanding only go so far. This sort of absurdity goes over the edge.
If moderate Muslims don’t want non-Muslims to lump them together with their mentally unstable brethren, then they need to step up and do something about it. Otherwise, they’re just as guilty.
