The United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution, in a 24-14 vote, which “expresses deep concern at attempts to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations.” Countries with stellar human rights records, like China, Cuba, and Russia, joined Muslim countries in passing the vote.
Well, I have a couple of suggestions for those Muslims who would like for people to stop identifying Islam “with terrorism, violence and human rights violations”: kick the violent terrorists out of your ranks and stop violating human rights. Oh yeah, and stop trying to suppress the right of people to express their opinions of your silly religion. Oh, I’m not just picking on Islam when I say it’s silly — all religion is silly.
Aside from the irony that the Human Rights Council has voted on a resolution that violates human rights, it’s rather telling that nothing was mentioned of other religions. Is this a statement that Muslims are the most persecuted of all believers, or that Islam is the One Religion to rule them all and in the darkness bind them?
