The Misfortune of the Christian Right

Christian Conservatives in the United States are worried: they don’t have a Republican candidate worthy of their support. Their adoption of the Decider during his first presidential campaign looks to have hurt them more than help them. They haven’t really gotten any of the major policies they wanted and the antics of the Decider’s administration (you know, things like illegal wars, torture of prisoners, an utter disregard for the Constitution) have not only made Bush himself unpopular but have also damaged the Christian conservative movement. I think more Americans see them now for what they really are — hypocritical, bigoted, nutjobs who are more dangerous for our country than terrorists.
