James Cameron vs. Christianity
James Cameron and Simcha Jacobovici are about to stir up a hornet's nest. The two have created a documentary which claims that a tomb discovered in 1980 proves that Jesus didn't rise up from the dead. Since the belief of Jesus' rebirth is a cornerstone of the Christian faith, you can bet a lot of the most vocal of the faithful are going to get huffy and puffy. Christians don't take kindly to being told that their faith is based on fiction.

Sure my faith might be a fiction, however given the box of James hoax, I question you objectivity on this issue. You seem to take glee in the idea that Christianity might be bunk. Sure, that might be the case, but more likely this is a hoax, and even if the boxes are authentic, there still is no body of Jesus and the DNA inconsistencies could reasonably be due to multiple users of the boxes which was customary at the time. Perhaps the DNA was from a former “occupant”?
I have yet to see the documentary, so I have no idea whether or not the evidence is convincing.
I’m not sure why you would expect me to be objective. As an atheist I’m already quite certain that Christianity is bunk. What I take glee in is the idea that we may actually have evidence to back that up. I do expect the majority of faithful to call it a hoax, regardless. But, hopefully, it will help some people clear their heads of fantasy and realize the truth.
James Cameron’s claim is bogus. There was an archeological exihbit in Cleveland at the end of 2006 where there were TWO bone boxes with the name “Jesus” inscribed on them. It’s kind of like finding a tombstone with the name “Bill” (or “William”) here in the U.S..
If someone claims that the historical Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible it must mean that the prostitutes of archeology (Cameron, the DaVinci Code, etc.) come out of the woodwork.
