Someone Needs to Educate Bush
In Wolf Blitzer’s recent one-on-one interview with the Decider, Wolf entered into a line of questioning about Iraq. I found it amusing how that particular segment progressed.
Wolf quoted former Secretary of State James Baker, who in his memoirs (written in 1996) stated that he believed removing Saddam from power was a bad idea because of the consequences it would bring about (most of which we are seeing today as a result of removing Saddam from power). Bush’s response was that those comments were made in a pre-9/11 world and that things have since changed (the point of which I’m totally missing, since Baker’s predictions were fairly accurate). Wolf then brought up another interview he and Bush had in 2000, when Bush suggested that if, as president, he found out Iraq had WMDs he would invade. He didn’t say it outright, but the intent of his statement was clear. All of those people who keep believing the BS the Bush administration spews about its justifications for invading Iraq need to take note. You don’t need us liberal nutjobs to preach to you — Bush incriminates himself.
The Decider also said that one of his justifications for invading Iraq was that Saddam’s government was a state sponsor of terrorism. Wolf countered that the same could be said about North Korea, Syria, and Cuba, and asked why we weren’t invading them. The Decider explained that North Korea, unlike Iraq, never invaded its neighbors.
Psst! Hey, Georgie! Look over here.
What’s the next justification for the Iraq invasion going to be? He wanted his soldiers to get sun tans? How did such a moron get elected to any office other than that of the King of Fools? If you missed the interview, it’s available at the CNN website. You may need CNN Pipeline to see it, though.
